Article excerpts courtesy of Echoes, March 2002 Mount Carmel was quite the school to be in as the students' annual Gym Day was held on January 18.  Students filled every corner of the gym, cheering their favorite cheers.  The battle of the classes began.  This event is renowned for the excitement and fun it brings to the girls of Mount Carmel.  The judges were ready to judge, the board members anxiously awaited to see if their hard work would pay off, and the students geared up to bring on a little class competition.

Alumnae Judges are introduced
Cheers from each of the classes filled the gym, rooting their volleyball team on, causing many teachers to sport ear plugs.  Class mascots led their classes to motivate fellow classmates out on the court.
At the end of the battles, the results came in.  The freshmen performed quite well for being new to the Gym Day scene.  They won two games against the sophomore Ragdolls and the junior Panthers.  The juniors competitively defeated the sophomores; however, the senior Butterflies were the undefeated champions of the volleyball games.
