The Barbies of Mount Carmel Academy and the Kens of Brother Martin High School went head to head on Monday, April 18 at the annual Cub-Crusader Clash. Students from both schools filed into Mount Carmel's Duplantis Gym (in character) for one of their favorite co-ed traditions. Student Council did a wonderful job this year in organizing the event.
Like always, the night started with a prayer, and then the games began! On either side of the gym, students could hear the Cubs and Crusaders cheering on their schools the top of their lungs. First up were the eighth graders in the uniform relay. Each team had to dress in the opposing team's school uniforms. Next was the shoe game. Here, both teams took off their shoes and threw them around the gym. Then, the two teams scrambled to find their shoes before tagging the next person on their team to go.
The third event held toilet plungers and sat on scooters. Each team had to row themselves up and down the gym to win. Next up was the classic game of Simon Says. The Kens took the win on that one, which left the last event, volleyball. At the end of the volleyball game, Ken had again won, which also made him the winner of the entire event. But watch out, 'saders--the Cubs are going to get you next year!
