We remember times of joy and energy when our ministries and our numbers were expanding: we assumed responsibility for more schools in New Orleans (St. Dominic, St. James Major, St. Louis King of France, in Westwego, we moved our novitiate and offices to Lacombe. We entered the health care field, pastoral care, spiritual direction, parish ministry, prison ministry, art ministry, the work of justice and peace from which emerged our presence now at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization. We remember the enthusiasm generated by Vatican II and our embrace of the renewal it asked of us. We remember those times we relaxed with our sisters, families and friends at our beloved St. Adele’s on the beach in Waveland. We remember the joyful re-opening of this academy in January, 2006. We celebrate the good that has been accomplished and we believe that, like Mary, our spirits will find joy in God who saves us.
