A Celebration of Worship

Celebration, a group dedicated to worshiping God through music, has always enjoyed spreading their spirituality with those who gather together for mass. Celebration recently had the honor of singing at the opening ceremony of the twenty-eighth annual national Johannes Hofinger Conference, a two-day conference dedicated to worshiping God and promoting knowledge of the Catholic tradition. One of the many people who gathered at the conference was Brother John Michael Talbot, a liturgical music composer who wrote such pieces as "I am the Bread of Life" and "Come Worship the Lord". Not only did Celebration get to sing some of his own songs in front of him, but they were able to sing along with him.

The entire mass was uplifting to say the least but one comment of Brother John Michael stood out in particular. "The true notion of worship is to completely lose yourself in the love of God." Indeed, this is what every person gathered on that day did. Celebration felt extremely honored to be invited to such an important event filled with people with such great faith. "It was awesome to be able to help lead a congregation of so many people from different places," says sophomore Rachel Hardison. "It was awe-inspiring. I felt like God was singing with us," says fellow sophomore, Amanda Schmidt.

Some members of Celebration have said that the best part of the mass was that it seemed like everyone in the room was singing, and to be able to be a part of a congregation of that great faith is a rare experience. For Celebration, it was a memorable gathering which concluded with a blessing from the Archbishop and many thanks from the members of the congregation.
