Mount Carmel Academy is a private, Catholic secondary school for single young ladies in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. It is conducted by the Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, who have educated young ladies in New Orleans since 1833. The atmosphere of the school and the individual attention given to each student encourage and foster emotional maturity and spiritual development. |

The mission of Mount Carmel Academy is to provide young women the opportunity to develop their God-given talents through a variety of academic and co-curricular programs and to guide and encourage young women to develop zeal for their faith along with a commitment to prayer and service.
Credo
Mount Carmel Academy is a school where the Catholic formation and education of young girls is our highest mission.
We pledge to provide an environment in which we are open to God in all the events of life and we relate to God in prayer as a friend, protector, lover, and guide.
We pledge to provide an education in truth, justice, and love according to the teachings and way of life of Jesus Christ, Son of God.

Mount Carmel Academy has twice been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education's Exemplary School Program as a Blue Ribbon School. |
In 1998, Mount Carmel was one of only 12 recipients nationwide of the Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Award for Innovations in Technology, presented annually by Today's Catholic Teacher magazine. |
