Fore!  Watch out, Mount Carmel...the MCA golf team is taking the school, and the state, by storm!  The award winning team won the titles of not just District Champs...not just Regional Champs...but also State Champs!  They, along with their head coach, Jay Ellerbusch, practiced hard for what turned out to be a truly auspicious season.

The Golf team participated in their first tournament, hosted by University High, on Feb. 22 in Baton Rouge on the LSU course.  The Cubs proved victorious, winning first place over seven other Louisiana schools, including MCA's own archrival, Dominican.

The team, which consists of eight girls from four out of the five grade levels, then geared up for Regionals, which were held April 1 at Riverlands Country Club in LaPlace.  There, they also proved triumphant, thus clenching their spot as Regional Champs.

That same week, the team put in some extra rounds on the green in preparation for the most important tournament of all, State.

On April 7-8, four Mount Carmel golfers traveled up to the State Championships at Olde Oaks in Shreveport, Louisiana.  There, they truly represented MCA, winning first place and making the Cubs State Champs!
