Queens of the Court

With a total of 16 points, the tennis team claimed the regional title April 29-30 at the University Tennis Center of New Orleans.  Ellen Edwards rose to the top of the singles division.  The team of Meghan de Baroncelli and Gabrielle Roe earned first place in the doubles division.

"I feel that overall the team had a good season," said Coach Colleen Clarke.  "They worked hard and their hard work paid off."

The tennis team continued its successful season at the state tournament on May 4-5, where they tied for first place with St. Thomas More High School of Lafayette.  Because St. Thomas More also won the doubles division, however, they ultimately won the tie.  Mount Carmel Academy became the state runner-up.


 

 

 
"I look forward to another opportunity to coach these girls and to another successful season," continued Clarke.  "All but two members are returning, so we have the potential to do as well as we did this year."

Contributing to this year's team effort were Ashley Adams, Meghan de Baroncelli, Ellen Edwards, Sarah Fox, Julia Guidry, Annie Lavie, Janie Lester, Connor Murphy, Molly Nolan, Gabrielle Roe, Meg Skansi and Kelly Vogel.
