Article excerpts courtesy of Echoes, May 2002 The girls of Mount Carmel's Track and Field Team had a great season.  They ran their fastest, jumped their highest and threw their farthest to bring home medals from every meet.  Coached by Mr. Mark Faliveno and Mr. Chris Kelley, each athlete contributed to the success of the team.  The Cubs' dedication and valiant efforts helped them place second at District.

The team practiced everyday after school.  The highlights of their weeks came on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they practiced at Archbishop Rummel High School.  The girls enjoyed working out alongside the Raiders.
Many of the girls went on to place in several events at the State Competition, including State Title for the 3200 meter race, and State Runner-Up in the indoor 800 meter race and the 4x800 meter relay.
