Opening night, May 5, 2004, Mount Carmel's Dramatics club, STK, presented the Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress.  Based on the fairy tale of The Princess and the Pea, Once Upon a Mattress was originally written by Mary Rodgers (daughter of Richard Rodgers) and Marshall Barer.

Princess Winnifred arrives at Prince Dauntless the Drab's castle dripping wet (because she swam across the moat) hoping for the hand of the prince.  His mother Queen Agravain insists that her son can only marry a princess of true blood (one that can feel a pea that is underneath a pile of matresses of course).
