The Carmelettes dance team consists of approximately 50 girls who are led by one captain and three co-captains selected by the members of the team. Freshmen are welcome on the team and tryouts are held usually in late April or early May. A dance clinic is held prior to the tryouts.
The Carmelettes participate in Mardi Gras parades, high school football games, pep rallies, state-wide competitions, fairs and special events. The team is eligible to perform at a National Competition every other school year.
