Mount Carmel's 8th grade dance team, the Cubettes, attended the American All-Star Louisiana State Competition in Lafayette on Jan. 17 & 18.  They placed in the following categories:  Jr. High Ensembles:  2nd place to Pom, 3rd place to HipHop, and 5th place to Lyrical; Jr. High Duets:  3rd place; Junior High Officers - 4th place; Team Jazz:  4th place; Team Pom: 3rd place and 5th place State Champion award; Team Prop/Novelty:  1st place and 4th place State Champion award.  Photos of state competition were specially ordered by the team and will be posted when they come in.
