Twenty girls participated in Beach Sweep last Saturday, September 20. Meeting at 9am on Lakeshore Drive, students collected trash along the Lakefront between Canal Blvd. and Orleans Ave.
The whole "Beach Sweep" activity was initiated by the "Save Our Lake" foundation. Beach Sweep was done on Saturday by groups in all 50 states and around the world in 20 different countries. Here at MCA, the Science Club sponsored the activity.
The girls worked hard collecting and notating all the different forms of garbage that is found along the Lakefront. After the clean up, some of the girls attended a celebratory picnic held on the Lakefront, behind UNO's campus.
