The purpose of the National Art Honor Society is to inspire and recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in art, to aid them in furthering their creative abilities and talents, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

The Mount Carmel Academy chapter promotes interest through in-school and community-oriented projects and art work displays, spring NAHS-sponsored art shows, art workshops and on-going education concerning careers in the varied arts.

Selection for membership is based upon art scholarship, service, character, portfolio review and a tryout poster.  The student must have completed an art course with at least a "B" average and have a minimal 3.0 GPA.
